Mark has asked me to put up the pictures of Lindy receiving his gift from the fans, for his 8 years service at the club.

I wish Lindy every success in his future career and hope to see him again soon.

Russell Slade has told his players he wants at least four points from the Glovers next two home games against Crewe and Brighton.
Yeovil claimed four points in their last two away games, with a win at Huddersfield and a draw at Northampton, and Slade is after a repeat in the upcoming Huish Park encounters.
Slade insisted: "It's quite simple, we've played two away and collected four points and I will be looking for at least the same return, if not better, from these next two home games.

"I am really pleased with how we created a mountain of chances at Huddersfield and now we must build on that at home."

Crewe and Brighton have had roughly the same start we've had, although it's still early days I hope for two good games and at least four points!

Yeovil Town have expressed an interest in former Millwall striker Carl Asaba - but look set to be pipped to his signature by Derby County. The 33-year-old frontman is a free agent after leaving The New Den in the summer and is currently training with Leeds United.

Championship side Derby appear favourites to capture Asaba, who has also been targeted by Yeovil's League One rivals Brighton.

The Glovers themselves have asked to be kept informed of developments, with boss Russell Slade keen to add a targetman to his squad.

Standing 6ft 2in tall, Asaba would complement the other forward options currently at Slade's disposal.

The Glovers lost 1-0 to League One leaders Nottingham Forest on Saturday - but more than matched their high-flying opponents.

"I certainly don't think we deserved to lose and on another day we perhaps could have won 1-0," said Slade.

"There are a lot of positives to take out of the game. At the beginning of the season Forest were favourites to go up and we were favourites to go down. You wouldn't have thought that if you watched the game.

"We feel that we're doing reasonably well at the moment and one point from the last two games is really harsh on my players, who are working exceptionally hard.

"But we know we have to get better if we want to be successful. I don't want to be plodding in League One, I want to be doing well and so do my players."

We have a guy on our board who says he is 100% certain Matt Harold is in Southend today to sign for us.

Does this sound realistic ?

If so whats he like ?

** EDIT by Darren - Now confirmed.

Confirming various rumours (and also appearing on the Bristol City site this morning), the OS has news that Marcus Stewart has signed on loan from Bristol City.

Conditions are (as expected) that he will not feature in matches against Bristol City, whether league or competition.

Also Anthony Tonkin, one of our former players has decided to continue his career at Yeovil. He started with us as a Junior, and left in 2002 with spells at Stockport and Crewe.

I doubt if many Yeovil supporters leaving Prenton Park, honestly expected Yeovil to win this fixture. On Saturday’s evidence, they probably left disappointed not to come away with a point.

Slades gambit of smothering the midfield and keeping a tight rein on possession yielded Yeovil a marginal advantage in the first half. But whilst his cagey 4-4-1-1 formation afforded a degree of control, it was at the expense of any cutting edge. Gray was left to scurry around for anything remotely resembling a half-chance throughout the game and
the few moments of inspiration invariably featuring some involvement from Cohen.

For all their possession though, Yeovil failed to inflict any real damage in the penalty box, and they paid the price for their lack of a killer touch. Then the home side swept into the opposition danger area for almost the first time and snatched the lead with a smartly-taken strike by Greenacre after Lindegaard’s square pass into space was intercepted.

Yeovil picked themselves up quickly and pulled a goal back nine minutes later with the help of a couple of Tranmere mistakes. A slip from Sherriff and the resolution
of Gray to chase down a lost ball, followed by a fine cross from James resulted in Cohen slotting the ball in from the far left. However, when Slade freezes the video recorder later this week he will ask Welsh, why he wasn’t on the end of the cross and also Cohen why he wasn’t in the centre of the box and what the hell was both Kamudimba and Terry doing so deep when the forwards need support?

Tranmere gradually began to assert control in the second half; yet again Yeovil struggled to turn possession into chances. It wasn’t until the appearance of McAteer a couple minutes after the break when things really tipped in Tranmere‘s favour.. McAteer marked the defensive play of Cohen and the forward play of Kamudimba, releasing Mullin in the centre to run down the flank, this only emphasised the gulf between himself and Terry. This wiped out any affect our two central midfielders had upon the game turning them into spectators and caused our defence problems.

Slade likes his defenders to man-mark, Skiverton had Taylor (tall target man) and Forbes had Greenacre, both players doing a superb job, but a team needs more than two defenders if its midfield doesn’t join the party. Tranmere builds its attacks down the right flank, through Mullian and Stockdale. Welsh is no obstacles which just leaves Jones, who was horrifically exposed all during the second half. Taylor patrolled by Skiverton would move across to the edge of the right side of the penalty box. Skiverton doing his shadowing job, wandered out of position and thus created gapping holes in the left side of defence. Jones was left to patrol the whole of the left side with little or no support from Welsh or Terry.

It signalled what should have been the confirmation of a complete and concerning rout. But instead Yeovil showed some belated spirit. Taylor rose virtually unchallenged and headed the ball to Mullian and a certain goal was denied by Mildenhall. Moments later with the most fortuitous of decisions in Yeovil‘s favour, Tranmere had a clear goal ruled off side. Yep for the fourth game in a row Lady Luck is still with us, but was she one of the few that procured a season ticket, lets hope so.

It has been decided to form an Away Travel Club by the former members of YTISA, this will enable when the demand exists for those that used to travel with the group, to once again travel to away fixtures, whether this be by Coach or Minibus.

This is not YTISA reforming but just those that helped run the organisation continuing to offer away travel. We have already spoken to Russell Slade and any excess monies generated by the travel over the season will be used to purchase items that he may require.

Travel will not be to all fixtures and usually to those that are popular, obviously providing that we have someone to help run the coach. All fixtures where the Away Travel Club (ATC) will run, will be advertised before hand by whatever methods are available.

They will be running a coach to the forthcoming fixtures at both Southampton and Swansea.

All bookings can be done by calling Roger on 07960 687075, or in the tent before any fixture.

THE start of a new season is always an optimistic time for supporters as they dream about what might be before the harsh reality hits home. That optimism was in grave danger of being extinguished completely tonight, it’s only the fact Yeovil are still unbeaten keeps hope alive.

Yeovil have pace throughout their team unless you have Terry somewhere in your name, but were struggling because they lacked something steelier in midfield. Neither Cohen nor Terry (surname) our central pairing, made their mark in the middle and they were not even up against opponents who make you fight for the right to play your passes.

Shaun Cooper had the easiest job on the pitch and marked Harrold, he also managed later to chaperon James and out jump any Yeovil player, embarrassing Skiveton (Terry forename), who’s only serious contribution as a defender was to win the toss before kick off.

The home side lost the initiative after the hour and Bournemouth took the game to Yeovil, pushing them back into their own half for vast chunks of play. Yeovil’s pace always gave them a possible shot at a killer goal from a quick break and Paul Terry was often the surprise pivot for many attempts which often resulted in passing back to a defender to aimlessly hoof it into the box or out of play.

Forget any silly statistic, Yeovil’s possession was only a short interruption in what was constant Bournemouth pressure, which was dealt with by Forbes and his rear guard Mildenhall. Whilst Skiverton tried to recover position or self made error he created in the centre of the park. Alas, Bournemouth squandering chances, and therefore lady luck seems to have paid Huish Park a visit for a change, therefore things have already improved upon last season.
