Hearts are having a press conference this afternoon at 2pm to announce the signing of Lee Johnson.

This was posted on one of the Hearts forums earlier. Apparently they have signed him for £100,000.

100k is a real bargin :-( even given the fact his contract was up at the end of the season! I do hope he gets in the side and is not just warming the bench every week.

He deserves to do well there after all that he has done for the club it was just a shame that we didn't know that Sat was his last match and we couldn't have given him a proper send off!! :)

100K is much better than zero in 4/5 months. I don't think we could realistically got much more (I was hoping for 125K ish) in the current situation.

We do indeed have a press conference this afternoon, I'll be on checking our news all afternoon so will update you when everythings confirmed. And as for worries about him just warming the bench I don't think that will be the case as at the end of the month our star attacking midfielder Paul Hartley is expected to get a 3 match ban for kicking a celtic player off the ball so we have a vacancy in that role that I believe Mr Johson will fill, and hopefully fill well :D

I hope add-ons are included in the deal. I personally think 100k is too light, even consiering the contract situation. Realistically, couldn't see him going for more than about 200.

I hope and believe that LJ will do a great job for Hearts.

I think small clubs have a real problem getting a good fee. Obviously Scotish Premier and possibly Europe next year is a huge temptation for Lee, which he could not refuse. So this must limit our potential bargaining power with Hearts.

This just in from the official Hearts FC Site.

Still no fee mentioned, just described as "nominal", but Johnson has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Tynecastle.

Just goes to show that if you take the advise from your manager and Yeovil, rather than your agent, then you can work with them in securing a great deal. e.g. Williams, Johnson.......bet McIndoe is kicking himself!

Hearts is a good example of how an OS should be updated.

We'll probably confirm it at our end sometime towards the end of next week.....

I have never heard of Grant Smith - it's either an error or he never got a game for us.

IMO Hearts would be able to survive in the Premiership - but would probably be bottom half. If we were in the Championship I think we'd do pretty well - and we are still improving and just starting to sign some quality players.

Graham Rix is already on the Hearts Official Site talking about Lee Johnson, sounding very enthusiastic and also keen to add he has been your player of the year THREE seasons running. Very impressive indeed.
