Help please.
My laptop will not open a second window. When I click on "file" then "new" and "window" the screen just refreshes into a new window and closes the original one! If I click on the internet explorer it used to open another window and now it just overrides the one that is open. The same happens when I am on my mail page with hotmail. :x Can anyone help me and tell me what kink is missing and where it is so that I can reinstate it?
I do not know how this has changed but it is annoying me! So can anyone help me? :? |

I am at work right now and the offending lap top is at home in disgrace.
I am sure it is something simple, just not as simple as me  |

Have you tried a spyware scan?
This isn't normal behaviour for IE, and I'm wondering if one of the windows is being hidden whilst showing a pop-up.
The other thing to try is whilst clicking on a link on a site, press Shift. Does this open a new window or does it do the same thing? |

Thanks for the advice Darren.
I use NoAdware as a spyware scan! It finds no serious problems.
I have tried the shift thing as you suggested and it just does the same thing.
It is strange and I do not understand why it is doing this but it severely limits what I can do on the net! :( |

Just out of interest I have fixed this problem :-)
If any one has the misfortune to have similar problem it was caused by an attempted download of a toolbar. Although it was cancelled Yahoo took exception to this and messed up my Internet Explorer :-(
Here is a link to a forum who helped me:

Worth adding to you favourite as you never know when you may have a problem ;-) |
