I have today received a response from the club. Again, it has been edited due to sensitive information in the letter. Please feel free to comment:

Dear Mr Mallinson

Our Chairman and Chief Executive John Fry has passed me your letter of the 17th February to reply to.

Mr Fry's Press comments were not levelled at any one Supporters Forum, but were more a reaction to a Football League discussion on a Code of Practice for Forums like yours.

His feelings are that while the club makes every effort to be transparent with its affairs and it's provision of Customer Charter Meeting for fans to consult with the club, all it gets in return are anonymous criticisms posted by so called "Supporters" who are unwilling or brave enough to identify themselves publicly.

Naturally the club appreciates your help on the ****EDITED***** affair and cannot have any control over free speech but we do not wish to have any relationship with any forum due to the blatant anonymity they continue to hide behind.

With that in mind we would be grateful if you could remove the official club logo from your site as no permission has been sought or given for its use on your site as it is covered by copyright laws.

I hope that will help to clarify Mr Fry's recent Press statement.

Your sincerely,

Adrian Hopper
Customer Charter Manager and Head of Media

How the club thinks it's going to get very far with responses like that I really don't know. It smacks of pettyness and implies a mentality of "them against us" between the club and supporters.

They need to put their toys back in the pram before it all gets too far out of hand.

And I'm not an anonymous poster either. People at the club know who I am and can get hold of me if they want to whinge some more about how unfiar it is that xxx anonymous internet posters are picking on them.

Well said, BG and I agreee with what you have said. We don't want a rivalry between the staff e.g Mr Fry and the fans and unfortuantely in situations like this actions of the few can cause punishment of the many. Mr Fry had the right to say what he had to say and so do we. I'll take on with interest what Mr Fry has to say on Soccer Night.
