You've probably noticed that advertising on this site has changed over the last couple of weeks.
This has been prompted for various reasons. Firstly, the site getting ripped off by Google. We'd generated over £100 in revenue from Google, at the drop of a hat they've decided to wipe all of this out and refuse to pay out.
The adverts I'm now displaying do not pay out for clicks. They now pay out for signups to or purchases from the relevant advertisers. I have control over what adverts are displayed, and I'm currently experimenting to see what the best balance is.
I will try wherever possible to minimise the impact of advertising, but at the end of the day it's necessary in order for the site to pay for itself. I've currently selected mainly advertisers that don't require you to buy anything, for instance competition sites. You will occasionally see other products or services advertised which I may have thought relevant to our visitors, for instance football betting or quizzes.
If you'd like to help us, please sign up to some of the competition or points sites using the banners. We get a few pence for each of these and it should not cost you anything. Thank you for any help you can give. |
