Thank you for all your support and patience during the recent period of downtime.
I've been contacted by a couple of members asking how they could help with the running of this site. I've decided to create this topic to answer a lot of the questions that have been asked.
Q: How do I become a moderator?
A: At the moment, the site is still quite small. We have 3 moderators, who are doing a very good job. Thankfully, the members of this site are well behaved. If you want to be considered for a future position, let me know.
Q: Can I help with news stories?
A: For now, let me or the mods know if you've got a topic you want made into a news item, and we'll do it for you. I'm currently considering a 'news posting' group for a future update.
Q: Do you need any assistance with the technical side?
A: At the moment, updates to the site's code are managed well. At some point in the future, it may be an option. We may need some help with graphic design, if you'd like to help please get in touch.
Q: Can I help financially?
A: Using this site is free, we don't expect anything in return. If you do want to help, that's up to you. There are a few ways you can help:
1) Clicking on the Google banner at the top of the screen. This costs you nothing, but the advertiser will pay us a few pence for it. You can then use the back button to come back to the site.
2) Clicking on one of the Betting advertising banners and placing a bet. We get commission for this.
3) Using the 'Donate' link on the left hand menu. This uses Paypal to process payments.
4) Sponsorship. If you represent a company that shares the site's audience, for instance sports related or within the Yeovil area, please get in touch to discuss this.
