Even though I have been watching the Glovers since I was 3, my first real memory isn't till 1988 when I was 8. The match was the FA Cup 3rd Vs QPR.
The main reason I remember it, is because somehow my old man hadn't got any tickets for us, but he blagged the stewards into letting us sit with the QPR fans in the main stand, saying I was blind or deaf (not sure which might of been both), anyway, 5 minutes into the game father and I were thrown out for ranting at the QPR fans around us, and those of you that might have known him (Paddy?) will know he was fond of ranting  .
As we were walking round the ground trying to find another way in, we found a gate open behind the goal with nobody manning it. So in we go straight down the front, lovely.
As for the match, Marco Falco hat trick lost 3-0, can't think of much more about the game
Anyway, there is my first real memory of watching YTFC, any others? |

| My earliest memory is my first game v Northwich Victoria at Huish Park, the start of the Johnson era. Me and my dad arrived late, there was a traffic jam on the A303 (I think) and it was chucking it down. We went 1-0 up and as some fans began to walk out we scored a consolation goal. F/T: 2-3. |

| I can't specifically remember my first game but it would have been sometime around 83/84. |

My first game is a bit of a blur I have to admit. :? I can remember the first game I was not allowed to go as we could not get a ticket. That was the Arsenal game in 1970/71. I do not think I ever forgave my dad for not getting me a ticket. I remember my granddad coming up from Taunton (and he never went to watch Yeovil) to go to the game with my dad. I continued attend games with my dad and my big brother but I only know this because of photographic evidence more than remembering.
My first total recollection was the in FA Cup against Milwall in 75/76. It must have been the biggest game since the Arsenal game as I remember the town was buzzing. I remember we drew 1 -1 and had my first real experience of crowd violence. :( A wispy fence (as I remember chicken wire and scaffold poles) had been erected to segregate the fans. I was stood along the wall in the shed (looking down hill) at the old ground. Milwall fans just kicked their way through it trying to get to the home end for a fight. My dad made the decision for us not to attend the replay!
Now I am the dad and I make the decisions and my kids complain…….what do they know  |
