I have a disc for Norton Ghost 10.0 . Anyone out there have any views on this product? Does it do anything that can't be done with XP system restore?

Ghost takes a snapshot of the PC, which can be stored on a 2nd hard drive, CD/DVD etc. It can also be used to transfer your whole system to another hard drive (ie a bigger one). PC builders use it to speed up the install of Windows on a PC - set one up and mass copy it to many other PCs.

Whenever I set a new PC up, I always take an 'image' of it using Ghost. That way, if things go wrong I can always restore it to a point where I know it was working.

System Restore backs up your settings, registry etc to another part of your drive. It should be ideal for most people's needs.

Thanks. It sounds like I don't really need to bother with Ghost then.
