It looks like Way has signed for us this morning, but nothing official as yet, but it's up on most of our sites' news pages.

What do you think of the move, I would never have thought you'd be selling your main players such as Way and Johnson?

I hope this isn't true. Just out of interest, who's 'us'?

First Johnson, now Way. And Webb's son signs. :x

If it's true (which I hope it isn't) then you've got yourself one hell of a player. I'm not sure it's the best of moves but we'll have to wait and see what (if anything) happens.

Swansea, but I'd still be holding out hope if I was you, I'm sure you've heard of us mouthing off transfers that never surface.

One of the things that makes me doubt this is the fact that yesterday your chairman said that he hadn't made a bid. Even if he now has then it's unlikely things would have moved so quickly.

Point taken, but this happened with Leon Knight, we heard absolutely nothing and then he signed in a day out of nothing.

We're really hoping this one pulls through, I remember myself Darren running rings round us down the Vetch last season.

What the hell is going on at Huish Park if this is true, do they honestly expect us to survive this division with our best players leaving or are they just making sure we don't get to near the playoffs so we can have a couple of seasons to settle down.

To be fair though we haven't played too badly recently and Darren wasn't playing!!!

I don't think there's anything sinister behind it.

If a player is out of contract at the end of the season and is either refusing to sign a new contract or is making unreasonable demands then what choice do the club have? They have to sell them now for as much as they can get or risk losing them for nothing in the summer.

Being brutal though, what is the associated cost of relegation? You have to weigh that one up as well. Swindon (rather foolishly me thinks) have refused to sell Rory Fallon for 300K to Swansea. My guess is that they feel that if they sell Fallon they are signing their own League One death papers.

At some stage - if you have your head screwed on correctly - you have to as a club say "no more - whatever the price", realising that we still need to get about 16 more points from the last 18 games to avoid relegation. Seems laughable for a side in 11th place that hasn't been in the bottom 4 since August to have to think like that. However two years ago Rushden cashed in on about 4 of their best players whilst in an apparently "safe" mid-table position and then went on to gain only about 3/4 points in their last 11 games. That decision relegated them.

As a club we have to be very very careful about what we are doing here.

I agree the club have to be careful, and I'm not suggesting that we offload our best players for the sake of it, but the club also have to consider the fact that players who refuse to sign a new contract will be worthless in a few months time. The club is a business after all.

Badger I've never heard you being as openly critical and questioning. That worries me more than any rumour.

Perhaps it's not the real Badger. Somebody else registered the username when the forum started.

I'm sure it is the real Badger. He's the one posting the Ciderspace news items anyway.

I think with what's been happening to the club over the last couple of weeks are enough to change anyone's outlook.
