As the topic states I'm a Hearts fan and news has just come out that we have agreed a fee with Yeovil Town over your midfielder Lee Johnson.
Now I know there are alot of Hearts fans you have a few doubts over whether a player currently playing for Yeovil can take our club forward, especially now as we have aspirations for the league title and Champions League next season.
I have to say I was slightly shocked at this potential signming aswell but know from previous players there are often hidden gems in the lower leagues. So it would be much appreciated if you could give me some info on this player and let me know if you think he will be able to cut it in the SPL and maybe the Champs League/UEFA Cup?
Much obliged,
Laurie |

| In my opinion, he'll be an excellent SPL player, because no offence, but the only decent teams in the SPL are Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and I suppose Hibernian, those games will be the ones that test him. But he has never found taking a step up difficult, he adapts really quickly as we've seen as he was with us in the conference and league 2. I'd say he is our best player, all round quality, creates lots of goals and dominates the midfield. People often worry about his height (he's only 5 foot 6 and a quarter) but it really doesnt hinder him at all. Devastated he's leaving us, but I wish him all the best with you. Please take care of him :( Oh I promised I wouldn't cry!! |

Good evening Hearts fan,
You have gained yourself a player who is more than capable of cutting it at Hearts. He was one of our strongest players and will be sorely missed. You will probably get a more in depth profile from Yeo supporters who have known him longer. |

No offence taken, I know the SPL isn't the best league in the world by a long shot. Our star midfielder Paul Hartley was actually taken from Scottish 1st Division side St Johnstone two years ago at the age of 27 and now he is a Scotland regular and one of our best players who has been attracting interest from Celtic and a few English sides. So I know players can certainly make the step up even after they have passed the stage of being a "youngster".
We will take good care of him, we're a great club with some superb fans and I'm sure he will be made more than welcome, especially if he is as good as you all say he is :) |

| He certainly is that good, if not better, the better the opposition, the better player Lee is, so watch out Celtic and Rangers :) Glad to hear he'll be going to a club where he'll be welcomed, it'll be a home from home for him. Maybe someday we can get a group of Yeovil fans up to Scotland to see him?! |

| Bah - It's such a shame to lose him. He's a great midfielder, he works so hard. |

| He was crap! He was only in the team because his dad was manager. :) It was nothing to do with all the assists he had or the cracking free kicks he scored or his link up play. He won't be missed until, oh, at least Saturday. Good luck Lee, hope Hearts fans are more appreciative of your talent. |

I will try to, you could pop into our forum - www.jamboskickback.co.uk - and see what everyone thinks when he starts playing. It was voted Website of the Year for 2005 by BBC Scotlands popular football program Off the Ball
Thanks for the info people, and hopefully I'll be back in a few weeks raving about your beloved Lee Johnson. |

I'm sure it will be a step up the wage ladder but I don't believe the SPL is that far away from the English L1. Lee Johnson will shine for Hearts.

Yeah always the same story, few fans can ever believe the Manager knows what he's doing. Also who are that "pub" team Yeovil its been years since they beat Sunderland is all we ever hear.
Lee is our star player and whilst on other threads folk are naming his best game as the Plymouth victory for me he has many cracking games. As our playmaker for the past 4 seasons he's been instrumental in our success and made countless goals for other players.
Last season we gave Rix's Oxofrd a thrashing 6-1. Can't say I am surprised that Rix remembers...
I hope he does help you wipe the smile off both of Celtic and Rangers. |

I'd like to see Hearts win the SPL but, let's be honest, it won't happen for a good few years yet.

Very good passer, schemer - a man who likes to take the ball from the back, and distribute, as well as play that killer ball in the final 3rd - the kind of player that can destroy a team on his day.
He also has a good motor and can tackle. Takes free-kicks and corners as well.
Oh, and he likes to get the odd yellow card for arguing with the referee :) |

| He is a quality player, and im sure he will be great for you. He will make a lot of goals. The best thing about him is his range of passing, and the attempts he makes, some players wouldnt do them because a)they cant, and b)they would be scared if they didnt pull off, lee will make a few poor passes but most of the time they look poor because he was trying somethng special. 9/10 times it works. Good luck lee, not since super gav left have i thought its going to be very very very hard to replace someone. Good Luck |

On that description he sounds a very good player, and VERY similar to our current midfielder and Scotland International Paul Hartley. Now Hartley was recently caught kicking a Celtic player on video and is expected to get a 3 game ban - so I think maybe Johnon is being brought in as we need some more attacking midfielders, and he should get his chance if Hartley does get a ban. |
