Having some problems with my wireless internet and wondered if a genius on here would be able to help!
Basically what is happening is the computer is connecting to the network, as i am still getin a strong signal, but failing to connect from the network to the internet. If i go into information about the network, where 'packets' is displayed, what is normally 'Sent = 8473 Recived = 8374' for example is 'Sent = 8473 Recieved = 0' i assume this has something to do with the problem but would not know how to fix this.
Thanks in advance |

If your device is sending packets but not receiving them, that may be a sign that the wireless access point might not be responding, is out of range or there's possibly another access point on the same channel interfering with it.
Another possible problem is certain types of cordless phones or wireless security cameras.
Try another channel (see your access point manual) and see if you get any difference in signal quality.
Do you have encryption enabled on the connection? Temporarily disable it and see if you get a better connection. If that works, experiment with the different encryption settings. |

i have had problems other the last few weeks with my normal network disconnecting me and connecting me to other networks in the area, however since the problem has occured im recieving full signal from my normal network, just not recieving any packets as i said.
i do have encryption enabled, so i will dissable it like you said to see if this makes a difference
EDIT: tryed to remove the encryption and still no different, still not receiving packets |

It may be worth switching the access point to another channel. If your device is finding other nearby access points, it's possible they're interfering with yours.
If you're on Channel 1, try 7 or 11. Make it a fairly big jump away from your current channel. |
