Hey Yeovil Town fans, greetings from Edinburgh.

Just thought I'd give you a wee update of your former star Lee Johnson. It did seem he had been deemed surplus to requirements at Tynecastle, however it now appears he has the chance to prove his worth to new coach Valdas Ivanauskas.

Although Johnson was left behind on our pre-season tour of Austria he was taken with the team to Preston for a friendly and he came off the bench and worked hard and looked sharp and determined to win a place in the side.

He also came on in our friendly at Murrayfield with Spanish Champions League qualifiers Osasuna and again looked sharp and set up our second goal in a 2-0 win with an excellent driven ball into the box.

He played again with the second team last night as they defeated Livingston 2-1 and although I didn't see how he did I think there is hope for him yet and the Hearts fans seem enthusiastic about his future at the club.

A lot depends on how he comes accross to our manager and owner still and how the trialists get on, and depending on any new signings we bring in, but it seems Lee Johnson could have a future at Heart of Midlothian Football Club yet...

Laurie,

Thanks very much for the update on Lee. I had noticed he did not travel to Austria and had assumed that he was not in Hearts plans and was looking for another club.

I am please to hear that he is getting a chance to show what he can do. I did wonder if he was just putting himself in the shop window at Preston but I am a little more hopeful with him getting a few more chances.

I am still sure he could do a good job for you as a squad member.

He is in line for a chance in the Champions League Qualifier coming up. Paul Hartley is out injured so I expect Lee to get at least a slot on the bench.

I admire Lee for getting his head down and fighting for a place. it can't have been easy seeing your name in print and being told you are not worthy of the shirt and better find another Club.

I hope Hearts can go that bit better this year and break the duopoly of the old firm this year.

As a Hearts fan for many years and a Glover since I moved to Somerset in 1986 I have kept a eye on Lee's time at Tynecastle. I did fear his time was up but he seems now to on the finges of the squad for the Champions League.
I note from the Hearts web site he is one of theplayers still requiring sponsorship for their kit. At £350 for the home kit, away kit or champions league kit, would anyone like to help me to sponsor a set of kit for Lee as a thank you for his time at Huish and especially that hat trick against Plymouth?

Looks like he's gone home to poppa.
Signing for Bristol City! Shame he can't cut the apron strings & play independently, I like LJ just wish he'd gone elsewhere!
