Today at the FIFA Congress a proposal was put forward to make the maximum number of clubs in a country's top division to 18. If this is put forward FIFA aim to put it in place at the start of the 2007/08 season. Click here for the full story.

This is stupid IMO, 20 clubs is sufficient IMO and we don't need it reducing, the Premiership used to be 22! If this idea is taken forward it would need restructuring down the pyramid to accomidate the extra two clubs. |

Which would probably mean extra relegations over the next couple of years to push it down a little.
Can you imagine finishing in 19th-20th and feeling safe, only to face the drop due to a change at the top? |

It would. In the FL I think 24 per division is the limit so if this stupid proposal IMO is taken forward the FL would have to be reduced to 90. |
