"Today was an important day in the history of YTFC. Currently residing in the lofty heights of League One, our board have appointed Russell Slade as team manager in order to take us on through this transitional period for the club. Not an entirely popular appointment, however I feel a growing air of optimism that, after five weeks of turmoil, delay and speculation we now have someone that might, just might, take us on from here. We have a good ground, the basis of a capable team and some smashing fans but one thing is missing - a social club. LOL - only jesting - we are missing an independent supporters group.
Since YTISA folded prematurely last year, there has been an undeniable gap that needs to be filled IMO. We have the technology, we have the ability but do we have the will? As I have previously posted there are enough smart, talented people on the forums to make this work.
At the moment, can I ask just two things of you? Will you spare a few minutes to read the questions below and either post your thoughts on this thread or e-mail me on yeovilarmy@yahoo.co.uk? Your answers will only be read by me.
1. Do you think we need another independent supporters group?
2. What should be its aims?
3. Should it be an "internet-based" group or a more "physically-apparent" group like YTISA was?
4. Is there anything that YOU can do personally to support any future group?
5. Would you be happy, subject to how any group was formed and administered, to join such a group?
6. Do you have any other thoughts on the matter? Names? Membership fees?
Even if you want to contribute just a few words, be they negative or positive, please do so, I'm happy to hear them all. It's just to gauge some support at this stage.
Our club needs us at the moment. This is a massive season for our club. We may turn out to be a "yeo-yeo" club constantly bobbing between Leagues One and Two. OR we might just be the team that consolidates in League One and then moves up to the Championship in future years.
Thanks for your time. Achieve By Community! |

1. Do you think we need another independent supporters group? Yes I do especially an independent one.
2. What should be its aims? Support the club and protect the supporters!
3. Should it be an "internet-based" group or a more "physically-apparent" group like YTISA was? I can see no reason why it can not be both! No supporter should fee excluded for not having Internet access and all should be welcome.
4. Is there anything that YOU can do personally to support any future group? I would be willing to help whee I could in any capacity.
5. Would you be happy, subject to how any group was formed and administered, to join such a group? yes
6. Do you have any other thoughts on the matter? Names? Membership fees? Fees should be reasonable and be sufficient for the group to be self funding
Well at least the bold worked it not exactly where I intended  but you get my point. |

1. Do you think we need another independent supporters group? From a general point of view I think we do need another supporters group, the YTISA did a fantastic job and I wouldn't mind a replacement. From an exile point of view I wouldn't mind an exile supporters group (ESG) but firstly we have to get the numbers and get people to willingly run it but that's a different matter.
2. What should be its aims? It should be a strong representitive for the fans.
3. Should it be an "internet-based" group or a more "physically-apparent" group like YTISA was? I think Internet Based would help but being an exile I won't be able to take advantage of bus trips from Yeovil.
4. Is there anything that YOU can do personally to support any future group? I would consider helping if it was visible, maintain the website if one is created. I know basic HTML.
5. Would you be happy, subject to how any group was formed and administered, to join such a group? As I've said before it would depend who it was aimed at, location wise.
6. Do you have any other thoughts on the matter? Names? Membership fees? Fees should be affordable. |
