A former SEEVIC College pupil in Thundersley by the name of Matt Harrold, currently playing for Yeovil Town, is the latest player to be included on the hit list for a possible transfer to Roots Hall.
Just got this off Southend Website!!
Currently 21 years old, and notching up nine goals for the Glovers last season, Tilson is keen to bring him to Roots Hall in time for the start of the new campaign in the Championship.
Harrold started his career with Harlow Town in the Southern League Division One East and moved onto Brentford in 2003. Two years on at Griffin Park he was mainly on the subs bench and had loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge and Grimsby Town and a move last summer to the Glovers seemed to be what he needed.
Steve Tilson is still searching for a replacement for Shaun Goater who retired from English football at the end of last season, and with Wayne Gray failing to agree contract terms with the Shrimpers and likely to be moving on, Tilson will need to start getting some new faces in. |

| Yep, that synopsis was taken from Wednesday's evening Echo, the local paper in the area. We'd only view him as back up as we're not convinced he's the finished article ready for the Championship. However Amankwaah on the other hand.............  |
