The Jevons sale is a reminder to all Brentford fans what sort of man W£bb is like. He put the club into debt and we all believed to have hit pastures new when Ron Noad£s took over when we were £3,000,000 in debt. Now we're c£9,000,000 in debt.

Before it is too late you need to get this awful man out of football!

In August 1997, a Consortium comprising Mr John Herting an existing Director, Mr David Webb and Mr Tony Swaisland, acquired a majority share holding in the Club, with Tony Swaisland assuming the Chairmanship. David Webb became Chief Executive with Eddie May and Clive Walker joining the Club as manager and First Team Coach. After an indifferent run of results, the Club parted company with Eddie May and Clive Walker in early November and appointed former Fulham manager Micky Adams as Manager with Glenn Cockerill as his Assistant. However, come the end of the season, Brentford were relegated to the Third Division.

During the summer of 1998 the major shareholding in the Club was sold to Ron Noades. Having parted company with Adams, Cockerill and Coach Kevin Lock, he immediately appointed a coaching team comprising of Ray Lewington, Terry Bullivant and Brian Sparrow to work under him in his role of team manager. In their first season they won the Third Division Championship breaking a number of Club records en route, whilst Ron Noades himself collected two "Manager of the Month" awards during the season.

The team meanwhile collected a number of representative honours including Republic of Ireland Under 21 Internationals, a Republic of Ireland B International, Icelandic Internationals and a Football League representative match versus the Italian league. It was during this period that Icelandic International Hermann Hreidarsson became the Bees record signing (£750,000) and just over a season later he became the Club's record transfer out (£2.5m to Wimbledon).

Midway during the 2000/2001 season Ron Noades stepped down from his managerial role and handed Ray Lewington the post in a caretaker capacity. Following the Bees qualification for the LDV Vans Final in April 2001, Lewington was confirmed as Manager. Immediately after the season ended, Ray stepped down as Manager, and was replaced by ex-Manchester United winger Steve Coppell, who spent three spells in charge of Crystal Palace during the 80's and 90's.

Having large investments is a big risk to take and in the case of Brentford it was something that went wrong.

Jevons wasn't sold, he left when out of contract. How does this remind you of Webb's time with you exactly? Or is this another attempt to unstabilise YTFC Fans because you have a grudge?

I wondered how long before this subject come up again!

I can see some resemblances with what happened at Brentford and would not like this to happen to us (obviously). Some bad things happen in any business or walk of life and in this case the Bees fans are right to be angry. I thank them for bringing this subject back into the limelight and would urge YTFC fans to be cautious and continue to press the club through all channels for answers on what the clubs true vision is and where the money from the supporters is to be used in the coming seasons. The shares appear to be in the name of Mr W£bb but can anyone actually confirmed that he has spent his own money buying our club? What are the plans for the ground improvements that have been muted before and probably more important how will this be funded? I have to say I love YTFC but at this moment in time if I did have the money to invest I doubt I would put my money into this club. The PR from the club is one of blind expectation rather than one to entice the loyal or fringe supporters to invest even in season tickets as what guarantee can we have that it is a good investment for entertainment and value for money.

I fear the club has an agenda to curb spending (although I understand we must be self sufficient and live within our means) on players. Combined this with the turmoil in player movement the lack of positive contract talks a manager or coming form the club. This with no real quality replacing the departed players is the real cause for concern from the majority of the fans.

The one thing I do know for certain is that we will be a League 1 club for at least one more season and I have to support the club through thick and thin! I just wish the club would show the same level of commitment to the fans in return.

Absolutely right, Daz.

A few months ago I posted what I had been told was Darren Way's salary at Swansea and signing on fee. I had been told this by someone who has business dealings with the boards of various football clubs.

At the time I was also told by the same person that Jevo would definitely be going at the end of the season because he (allegedly) likes to move often to pick up signing on fees. Who can blame him?

I cannot see what any of this has to do with Dave Webb.

Crikes! Sure he wants to make money out of YTFC but with the best players leaving the stock is being devalued...there is no way he could sell it at profit at the moment...I should imagine that he's as concerned as everyone else!
